Documentary (52 min), ZDF/Arte Asian ring-necked parakeets are increasingly conquering Central European cities. The magpie-sized green parrots are conspicuous due to their loud squawking and large flocks. They are suspected of damaging trees and stealing the nesting cavities of native bird species. In Cologne, however, ornithologists are making astonishing observations that do not fit into this “unwanted troublemaker” image at all.
