About us
Marco Polo Film AG was founded in 2000 by award-winning documentary filmmakers Annette and Klaus Scheurich. Since then, Marco Polo Film AG has become one of Germany’s most successful independent film production company for nature, animal and wildlife, science, travel and adventure films. With our own pool of authors and filmmakers, we conceptualize and realize various formats (documentaries, reports, short films and series) for the domestic and international markets. Our most important cooperation partners include ZDF, Arte, various institutions within the ARD network and, on the international side, Smithsonian Channel, Terra Mater, NHK, National Geographic, SRF and many more.
Annette Scheurich
CEO
Annette Scheurich is author and producer at Marco Polo Film AG in Heidelberg, where she is responsible for the development and production of documentary films. She is a geologist and has been keenly interested in nature and environmental issues since her university days. In 1984, together with her husband, Klaus, she co-founded the Marco Polo Film AG production company.

CEO & DOP
Klaus Scheurich is cameraman and producer at Marco Polo Film AG, responsible for development and production of documentary films. Klaus is a geologist and, together with his wife, director of Marco Polo Film AG.
Verena Feige
Producer
Verena works in the production department of Marco Polo Film AG. Her studies at university included film and TV and Scandinavian studies, and she lived in Norway for several years. Afterwards, she has worked as a production assistent and for a film funding.
Vanessa Berghof
Postproduction
Vanessa joined our team in 2020 and ensures that post-production runs smoothly. She also supports us in editing. She is an all-rounder who likes to relax in between with a cup of Moritz coffee.
Moritz Mayerle
Producer
Moritz Mayerle is a freelance author and producer working also for Marco Polo Film in Heidelberg, where he is responsible for the development and production of documentary films. He is a qualified biologist and has been a keen nature and environmental fan since his university days.
