A major platform for our new project: Dirk Steffens was a guest on the WDR program “Hier und Heute,” where he announced his new ARD series for “Erlebnis Erde.” We are delighted that our documentary “100 Years of Kruger National Park with Dirk Steffens” will be the first film to air in this new format.

To mark the anniversary of one of the world’s most famous protected areas, we accompany Dirk on an impressive journey through the vast landscapes of Kruger National Park in South Africa. The film combines spectacular nature footage with current questions of modern conservation — and tells the stories of the people who protect, shape, and continue to develop the park. From sweeping savannahs and nocturnal wildlife encounters to meetings with rangers, veterinarians, and the Makuleke community, the film creates a multi-layered portrait of a protected area that has stood for biodiversity and future prospects for a century.

We are very much looking forward to the premiere on April 27, 2026, on ARD.
