The film takes us to the wonderful world of polar day in northern Scandinavia. North of the Arctic Circle, the sun hardly sets in summer. Despite abundant food, animals and plants face great challenges. Summer is brief, leaving little time to bring forth the new generation. Around the clock there’s a frenzy of growing, eating, feeding, hunting. But lack of sleep, pests and the constant threat of predators cause unease and stress. Deadly danger lies side by side with abundant life here in the land of the midnight sun.
