A coral reef complete with a marine dinosaur: that was Lake Lugano 250 million years ago – hard to imagine when strolling the oleander-lined lakeside promenade today. The legacy of those prehistoric times, however, are everywhere to be found: a primordial stalactite cave, marine fossils and limestone caverns – their stories are intimately entwined with the people who live with and from the natural environment of the lake.
