Beaches of Europe - Sardinia

A film by Mi-Yong Brehm

Documentary (52min) ZDF/ARTE

Hidden bays, long beaches and turquoise water – that's Sardinia. The second largest island in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is considered the Caribbean of Europe and is a tourist magnet. But very few people realise that beaches are natural habitats that need to be protected. Sand is a precious commodity, and no two grains are the same. The film shows how beaches are created, why they are so different and how the Sardinians try to reconcile nature conservation and tourism.
