Annette Scheurich is head of Marco Polo Film AG in Heidelberg and responsible for development and production of documentaries.
She is married to photographer and filmmaker Klaus Scheurich and has one son.
She majored in Geology in 1981. Since her student years, she and her husband Klaus Scheurich have been engaged and interested in issues related to nature, science and environment.
In 1984 they started to produce nature films and established their production company, Marco Polo Films. Since then Annette has scripted and produced countless nature and adventure films – many of which won multiple awards. She has worked for national and international broadcasters. As producer she has participated in numerous panels at various congresses and Festivals. Annette Scheurich is a member of Filmmakers for Conservation. (read more).
Besides these activities she loves travelling, meeting people and is always looking for new and exciting ideas.

Klaus Scheurich is Cinematographer and Producer of Marco Polo Film AG in Heidelberg and responsible for development and production of documentaries. In 1984 he started to produce nature films and established the production company Marco Polo Films together with his wife, producer and writer Annette Scheurich.
Klaus has always spearheaded the latest technologies. He has been working with High Definition equipment since its early days and accumulated extensive expert knowledge.
As expert for High Definition issues he has participated in numerous panels and at various congresses and festivals such as Dokville, Science Congress, Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, and several workshops.

Peter Fera began his career as cameraman in 1953 at the “Tagesschau” in Hamburg, the major German News Report. He has been a documentary filmmaker for the “Adenauer-Fernsehen” and for the very renowned Peter von Zahn’s “Reporter der Windrose”. His work took him to many remote places of the earth and since 1967 he shifted his focus from reportage to nature- and wildlife films. 1977 Peter Fera established his own company the COFILM Fera & Schalk GmbH. Until 1988 he produced 66 TV documentaries, 34 industrial films, commercial spots and shorts for cinema. He worked closely with Heinz Sielmann for the TV-slot “Expeditionen ins Tierreich” and many others in the national and international market. Since 2005 Peter Fera works with Marco Polo Film AG in Heidelberg as a freelancer for Production Management.

Mio’s arrival in the production and editing department of Marco Polo Film at the beginning of 2011 was a real boost. A qualified journalist and speaker, she initially worked in radio broadcasting and then as the first female newsreader with Korean roots in German regional television. She subsequently spent 7 years as a producer before joining us. She’s married and has a little boy whom she enjoys spending her free time with. She also loves cooking, dogs (please note the comma between the two!) and travelling the world.

(Research and Production)
Moritz is biologist by profession and enthusiastic about all nature-related subjects. He is interested in the little details of the natural world as well as the global picture of ecological issues – be it fierce territorial fights amongst little squirrels in the Malaysian jungle or the worldwide impact of global climate change. Moritz joined Marco Polo Film AG in July 2010. Besides production responsibilities he is involved in the development of new “biological” film projects. Whenever possible he likes to enjoy the great outdoors.

(Trainee as audio-visual media designer )
Mona is a member of the Marco Polo Film Family since September 2009. After her education as graphic designer in 2008 she was looking for new challenges. She took a break traveling through New Zealand she started her training as audio-visual media designer at Marco Polo Film AG. Her dream for the future is to work as a professional Editor for documentaries. She works with Final Cut Pro and Avid, is assisting with all steps of postproduction and supports us with her knowledge as graphic designer. Mona likes horseback riding and taking pictures, simultaneously if possible. And whenever possible she lives her traveling passion.

Boas always wanted to be a Wildlife Cameraman and started with an internship at Marco Polo Film AG in May 2008. After that he started studying media science in Siegen in autumn 2008. Whenever his studies allow, he has been working as freelance camera assistant and second unit cameraman for Marco Polo Film AG. When he is not filming and studying, he climbs mountains, travels through the world or sits at a campfire together with some friends.
